The Beautiful Life With Hope Coalition is happy to announce the "Cherish and Protect Our Youth Conference" on August 2-3, 2010 at the Navajo Nation Museum. The Focus of the conference is to inform and learn with our communities youth. Workshops and presentation will vary from an array of topics such as suicide prevention, drug & alcohol abuse, teen pregnancy, and much much more. Inspirational and motivation speeches from a group of talented, educated, enthusiastic and passionate people from a wide variety of backgrounds. 

The conference will include performances and workshops from two of Native America's most talented individuals. Redcloud from Hawthorne California is a reknown hip hop artists who has earned critical acclaim from some of the most prestigious critics and press which include THE SOURCE magazine, BET, MTV, and Fuse. He has established himself as a motivational and inspirational teacher and mentor using hip hop methodology. He will perform and do presentations on suicide prevention and gang abatement at the conference and will do a full performance for the people in attendance.

Reginald Mitchell is an established professional Mixed Martial Arts Competitor (MMA). He will conduct a motivational speech focused on motivation and leadership. Reginald Mitchell, a 32-year-old Navajo (Dine) from Gallup, NM, i sa self defense specialist/consultant, motivational speaker and martial arts competitor. He owns and operates "Fierce Protection Systems" a modern, realistic system of combat which specializes in standing, clinching, and ground fighting. Besides providing reality based training in Jiu Jitsu, Thai Kick-Boxing, Close Quarter Combat, FPS incorporates the traditional principles assocated with being a Navajo Warrior.           

Featured presenters also include Yvonne Kee-Billison and Jason "DJ ABEL ROCK" Allison from the Office of Youth Development, Sergeant Wallace Billie of Public Safety, Gary Davis from Adolescent Care Unit, Fannie Jackson from HIV prevention, Char James from Navajo Treatment Center for Children and Families, Robert Johnson from the Navajo Nation Museum.

The conference will also feature an open youth forum Youth Discussion Panel. This is an opportunity for youth to speak their mind to leaders, teachers and parents all in attendance. This portion of the conference allows youth to speak on the issues and topics that are of concern to them and their peers. It is an open forum to youth in attendance and will feature youth presenters from all backgrounds and ages.
