Northern Arizona NAMI Walk
What an amazing day!
A huge THANK YOU to the 600 participants in the 1st NAZ NAMI Walk. Perfect weather, talented entertainers, dedicated volunteers, and enthusiastic team captains worked together in bringing about a successful event. Walk Manager Carrie Beaver, NAMI State President Cheryl Fanning, County Attorney Dave Rozema, and Flagstaff Mayor Sara Presler all spoke painting a picture of why we walk. It's not too late to join with us in this important cause. Online donations are still accepted. You can make a difference! Help break the silence. Your donation to NAMI will fight the stigma surrounding mental illness.

Re-Making the World of the Trauma Survivor: The Treatment of Extreme Trauma
NARBHA was a major contributor and sponsor of the first conference offered through the Hopi Foundation on the Treatment of Extreme Trauma. Two tracks were offered; one on the treatment of torture survivors, and one on the treatment of trauma of Native American War Veterans. The conference brought people from around the world, such as Honduras, Turkey, etc, and had over 300 participants.
- A sweat lodge was hosted as part of the conference demonstrating the treatment of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and was the first experience for many people who were from other countries. NARBHA organized the Well-Being Center for participants and presenters due to the delicates nature of the topics in the conference. The Well-Being Center also provided renewal to those that work in the field of human services. Zero-Balancing Therapy, Light Massage Therapy and Counseling services were offered both days.
